Purpose
The Tampa Bay Lightning are committed to providing girls within Florida and the Tampa Bay Area a safe, competitive environment to grow their individual hockey skills while promoting the enjoyment, appreciation and understanding of hockey.
The purpose of the Lightning Girls Rec League is to teach the girls the rules of the game, help them develop their skills, give them a chance to play with and against other girls, help them make friends off the ice, and to have fun. We hope your daughter will enjoy her time with us and learn as much as possible about the game!

Kelley Steadman - Kelley is a 3x World Champion with Team USA, a CWHL champion, an NWHL champion with the Buffalo Beauts, and a Mercyhurst Women's Ice Hockey alum. She also has over 7 years of Div. 1 Women's College Hockey coaching experience and over 10 years of experience as a private skills instructor.

The Tampa Bay Lightning Girls Rec League takes place at Power Pole Arena, located at 6910 Asphalt Ave, Tampa, FL 33614 and is for GIRLS ONLY AGES 7-13 that have completed Learn to Play (Hockey 101) and Rookie League (Hockey 201) or who have been approved by the coaching staff to skip the Rookie League step
The league runs for 8 weeks and during Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer every year.
9U Rec League: For girls ages 7-9 who have completed a Learn to Play program (Hockey 101) and Rookie League (Hockey 201) and are looking to learn more about positioning and game play!
13U Rec League: For girls ages 10-13 who have completed Rookie League (Hockey 201) or have aged out of 9U Rec League and are looking to learn more about positioning and game play!
